Well, how do you do? I do very well, thank you. Indeed. |
This pic would be more effective if you could see our stellar hats. I don't mind saying the mustache-hat combo made me feel considerably more important amongst the normal, non-top-hatted, mustachless patrons of the swanky pub. If any of us doubted our significance for a moment, we needed only raise a mustachioed finger in silent salute to each other in recognition of our mutual awesomenimity. It's the Jeep Wave of the cool kids. And, I suppose it goes without saying that we agreed with everything everyone said all night with a resounding "Here Here," "Cheerio," or "Indeed"!
The bar had an intruiging cocktail list, although it must be said that the drinks were hit or miss. We were happy for having Nate's smart phone with us, not only for the ability to document digitally our furry accessories, but also because we could nerdily look up strange words on the menu, such as "bespoke."

Fave drink of the evening: The Revolver. |
As I am now the proud owner of the hubby's said smart phone while he's overseas, I am sure there will be no end to the fun in taking lots of ridiculous photos of myself and making them look cool on Instagram. I may just not give the phone back. Well, okay, I probably will give it back to him, but only after downloading what I have just discovered are a bunch of adorable photos of my kids that he has been hogging all to himself. Stay tuned, faithful readers. There will be much rejoicing and saying of "Awwwww."
Happy 31st, Hubba.

You are a handsome pair! :)
The word "bespoke" is ALL over the place here in S.F.....my husband and I walked past something the other day that said "bespoke sandwiches" or something like that, and we knew the word has now "jumped the shark". It basically means "customized", right?
Good luck with the single parenting! I'm on day three and have been quite productive, if slightly yelly. But, hanging in there!
Um, aren't all cocktails 'bespoke' (ie made to order/measure) by definition? This is the kind of thing the English point to to support claims that we don't understand how to use the English language.
Ooh, snarky! I think a cocktail should really only be classified as "bespoke" if you walk up to the bar and order a specific combination of ingredients, but then again, I'm new to the word. Here's what GQ has to say on the matter.
Ha! It has totally jumped the shark if they are using it for a deli sandwich. "Slightly yelly" is a great way to describe single parenting. Glad to hear you're hanging in there. I've got a while to go, so I'm sure I'll be discussing/venting more here.
I'm glad you got to celebrate before he left! I love the mustaches!
Didn't mean to post that comment yet. Anyhow, hang in there while he's gone! I hope you're able to communicate regularly. Can you skype on his smart phone? Have fun with the phone...I myself am getting a "smarter" phone on Thursday. Not a smart phone but smarter than the one I have now. I'm pretty confident it will be able to take photos and everything : ) Cheers!
